Visa Requirements – Helpful Information
Foreign visitors must have a valid passport. When entering Chile, the visitor receives a valid tourist for 90 days. A valid passport is required for those from countries that do not maintain diplomatic relations with Chile will be required valid passport. In this case you must also obtain registration of your passport or consular granted by the Chilean authority abroad or International Police to verify your arrival.
Countries that need Chilean visa: New Zealand, Haiti, India, Lebanon, Egypt and Russia.
Tourists from Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay and Paraguay may submit the following documents: valid passport unstamped, National Identity Card or Book civic engaged.
Applications for visas can be performed on the following platforms. The person should enter the platform, record all the information required (even with attachments) and send the form to the appropriate consulate.

Reciprocity Fee
Citizens of some countries are required to pay a reciprocity fee when entering Chile at SCL. This fee is paid before going through Immigrations and Customs. The fee may be paid by credit card or cash. You will receive a stamp and proof of payment receipt in your passport. Once the Entry Reciprocity Fee receipt is attached to your passport, you proceed to immigration control.
Those entering Chile from a land/water crossing, are in airside-only international transit at SCL, or are entering Chile at an airport other than SCL are not required to pay the fee.

Departure Fee
There is a $30 departure tax to leave Chile. It is often included in the price of the ticket, but it is best to confirm before purchase.
Tax Waiver
When entering Chile (by cruise, vehicle or plane), at customs, travelers will need to fill out a tourist card that allows them to stay for up to 90 days. Travelers will have to present the tourist card to Customs officials when leaving the country. Be aware that hotels waive Chile's 19% room tax when the guest shows this card and pays with U.S. dollars.

Our Chilean hosts have arranged a shuttle service with a company called Transvip to transport delegates from the Santiago airport to Viña del Mar and back to Santiago. Transvip has a desk at the airport where transport can be arranged upon your arrival. However, reservations are highly recommended.
- Transvip will schedule transportation based on information received via reservations. Transportation will be by minivan (maximum 7 persons) or taxi (maximum 3 persons), depending on the numbers of delegates arriving at approximately the same time.
- Prices
- Exclusive minivan service (1-7 passengers) one way: $87.660 (Chilean pesos).
- Exclusive taxi service (1-3 passengers) one way: $80.100 (Chilean pesos).
- The prices quoted are per taxi or per minivan. You should be prepared to pay the full amount. However, if other IAIA delegates are arriving at approximately the same time and can share the ride, the price will be divided accordingly. For example, for a taxi: 1 passenger = $80.100. 2 passengers = $40.050 each person. 3 passengers = $26.700 each person. You will pay at the Transvip desk at the airport when you arrive.
- The prices reflect a 10% discount for IAIA delegates. Transportation is not subject to the 19% VAT.
- Waiting time is approximately 15 minutes. It takes approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes to travel to Viña del Mar via taxi or minivan.
- Transvip will drop delegates off at their hotels.
- You can make return reservations via the reservations form at any time (minimum 6 hours in advance). However, if you want a round trip you should plan to pay for the return trip when you arrive to ensure that the service is available.
To make a reservation, please complete this reservation form and send it directly to Transvip. Transvip will return a confirmation of reservation and cost. You should check in at the Transvip desk in Santiago airport when you arrive, and pay with credit card or cash at that time.
