IAIA17 Photo Contest
PHOTO SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 6 March 2017
The IAIA17 Photo Contest, focusing on the conference theme of climate change, aims to encourage networking among conference participants by exchanging views about climate change.
It will also be an opportunity to share great photos of people, communities, natural environments, events, and more from all over the world. Photographers are invited to illustrate the many aspects affected by climate change and the efforts made to mitigate its effects and adapt.
Photos can be submitted under the following categories: sources of climate change; impacts of climate change; vulnerability and ethics; adaptation and resilience; risk and disasters.
A sample of the photos received and accepted for the contest will be presented during a slideshow at the IAIA17 welcome reception and conference banquet. The winning photos will be displayed at the conference and will also be published on the websites of IAIA and AQÉI.
Eligibility
- The contest is open to all current members of IAIA and its affiliates (membership must be in good standing at time of submission);
- Professional photographers are not eligible.
Participation (Registration and Rules)
- Each participant certifies that he or she is the author and sole owner of the copyright of the photographs submitted;
- The photos provided in the contest must be received in high resolution JPEG digital format, in color or black and white. Photomontages are not eligible;
- Each participant can only submit one photo per category, and a photo cannot be associated with more than one category;
- For each photo entered in the contest, the photographer must accept the conditions of the contest and fill in the web form below.
Selection
Photos will be judged on originality, technical excellence, composition, overall visual impact, and artistic merit. The jury consists of 5 people, including two independent professional photographers.
Jury decisions are final.
Winning photos will be selected by 8 March 2017. Winning photos will be announced during the opening day of IAIA17 (4 April 2017), and prizes will be awarded to the winning photos for each category.
